Web-site rebuild

Since our launch in december the Sunnydale-SL island has been rebuilt and changed along the way. However, we haven't changed the Sunnydale-SL website since last year. In the spirit of the spring season i'll be rebuilding it. I am not satisfied with the overall design and navigation on the site, and I know for a fact that Jude really wants the the 'what's on' page to be improved too, so I'll be starting with those.

My overall goal is to make it lighter, brighter and more clean in design. Other aims are to offer more "fun" content and get a forum up and running. I am going to be taking inspiration from the Buffy the Vampire Slayer comics from Dark Horse rather than from the TV series. I would like to also have this influence the actual structure of the site as well as just the design. We will keep you posted on it's progress as it happens.

Role Play Chapter: The Demon K'arnyth

10th April 2008

The Sunnydale vampires have summoned the demon K’arnyth (pron: kay-arnath) to Sunnydale to aid them in their goal to dismantle the champions for good in Sunnydale. The Watchers’ Council believes that K’arnyth may have the power to possess and enjoys creating chaos and disarray. No one is sure where the demon is, or who he has in his thrall.
OOC: We are continuing this RP Chapter until sunday. Let me know if you feel your character has something special to offer.

Role-play workshops

Since we started the sim back in November last year, we've had many requests for workshops. Usually these requests are for workshops to help get noobies up and running in the sim, but also to focus on more advanced aspects of roleplay. A quick search on the Second Life website events page was enough to make us realise that this is an area which has not been catered for.

We're going to start running regular workshops this month. We'll be beginning with focusing on getting everyone involved and up to the same standard in the sim. The first few will be the absolute basics: emoting, DCS combat, creating groups, & using group chat. The following workshops will then begin to focus on more advanced topics.

We'll be looking forward to seeing you there!

Is Second Life growth slowing down...

A very interesting article for us SIM owners who are trying to make our virtual lands run as both a labour of love and a business:
